Pakistan bans Google, Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, YouTube, Bing and Amazon


There is shocking news for net users. Pakistan Govt. is all set to block Google, Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, YouTube, Bing and Amazon, for publishing and promoting sacrilegious and blasphemous material.

As per the news report Bahawalpur bench of the Lahore High Court yesterday directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to immediately block nine websites, including Google, Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, YouTube, Bing and Amazon as these are the medium of publishing publishing and promoting sacrilegious and blasphemous material.

This is not a new incident to readers. Pakistan has started banning sites since it has baaned Facebook first. Thought the authority has banned Facebook for holding of a competition on blasphemous caricatures of Prophet Mohammed.

Then came Youtube and after that came Twitter to get a banning tag from Pakistan. The fundamentalists had even declared Death Warrant for Mark Zuckersberg, the founder of Facebook. This time the petition was filed by an individual who claimed that these websites were publishing sacrilegious material.

However, the PTA officials have denied receiving any court orders to block these websites.

New Search Index of Google

Google is waiting to introduce its new search index, Caffeine. According to Google the Caffeine search provides 50% fresher results than the last indexation had taken place. In this new index of Caffeine, the system will process hundreds of thousands of pages in parallel and simultaneously. So it would be faster than any previous indexation process. If this were a pile of paper it would grow 3 miles taller every second.

Here the largest collection of web content will be crawled and indexed. Whether it's a news story, a blog or a forum post, you can now find links to relevant content much sooner after it is published than was possible ever before.

Since fresh content is the most vital assets in web, Google has planned to value those content with proper indexation. It will cover all images, news, real-time updates and videos also. The searchers will find easy and convenient process to find proper information.

The visitors as well as search fed people will find new and most updated fresh information from Google.

Facebook banned in Pakistan


Pakistan has imposed ban on Facebook over a competition encouraging users to publish caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed on the site. Muslim fundamentalists shout their sheer objection and demanded ban on this social Networking site. They also condemned the user-generated contest for blasphemy, as the depiction of any prophet is strictly prohibited in Islam. The Govt. also ordered her authorities to block this site temporarily and assured to investigate the entire case. However, no investigation teams have been formed yet.

Drag from Desktop: Gmail’s new feature



Our popular Gmail has updated itself and has added a new feature.

Now you can drag an attachment from your computer right onto Gmail.

This is actually combined features of two and the new feature goes well. While composing any mail if you want to add any picture or any file then just drag it from your computer desktop and drop it inside the mail body. When you have dragged the file or picture, Gmail will ask you to drop the file or image inside the mail body. Just drop it there and see how the file or image gets attached.

India is third in Google’s record for data removal requests


Internet Mejor Google has ranked India third for sending data removal requests for censoring information.

This is the first time that a Search Engine like Google has published a country wise list of the number of requests received from Government seeking their removal of information.

According to the list, Google received maximum number of requests from Brazil, followed by Germany and India. For Brazil and India, requests for content removal are high relative to the other countries in part because of the popularity of our social networking websites Orkut.

Other countries in the list are South Korea, United Kingdom, Argentina, Spain and Canada. Brazil is at the top in terms of seeking data while India secures fourth position.

At Last Google has introduced SEO extension for Chrome. Yes, a set of extensions have been launched for its users. Many extensions have already been introduced and are being used widely but for the SEO fields there was not such updates. Recently this extension has been launched though it is still in Beta Version. So many features are not available now but are expected to come soon.

Search Features of Bing


Being the competitor of Google and Yahoo, Microsoft's new venture Bing is introducing its various new features and drawing the attention of general as well as net savvy users. It has designed its new Search Engine with all the best applications possible.

Like Google and Yahoo it has also designed its search Engine with different types of search options to let the users choose as per their requirement.

In Bing one can do Image Search , Video Search, Shopping result, news result, Map, Travel search, History [ Last search result ], Visual Search [ Movie and other entertainment result ]

There is a button called "EXPLORE" that leads to all the features available in Bing. One can find a new button "xRank" that shows the most search result on anyone and anything.

In each of the search option, there are so many other search options that offers various types search filters to sieve out the actual information.

Twitter Updates in Yahoo Search Result


Recently Yahoo and Twitter have a made a deal that the real times updates in twitter will be shown in Yahoo. Previously Google only displayed the twitter updates in its own Search Results but now the Yahoo users will also find the relevant twitter updates in their Yahoo Search Results. This is no doubt a good steps towards real times Updates fields where Google used to reign.

Twitter has announced this to its own Blog Twitter Blog citing some more features that the Yahoo users will find.

Yahoo also has declared this to its own Blog Yahoo Blog mentioning that this new partnership with Twitter will help to collect all the feeds generated and display for their users.

Obviously this partnership is a great achievement for Yahoo as it was loosing some users due to not availability of twitter real time updates . Twitter on the other hand has got a good chunk of priority to the Top Search Engines.

Knol - a new step of Google towards knowledge sharing


World's no.1 Search Engine Giant Google has expanded its service towards knowledge sharing. The new version of this service is "Knol" sharing of knowledge. The news wing of knol is therefore connected to Google's main domain.http://knol.google.com/k

According to Google's own word "Knol is a free service from Google that allows one to communicate, collaborate, and share one's knowledge with the world." Indeed, the service allows users to share their opinion , thought and the first thing comes to their minds.

The users are allowed to create new content and the content is called as Knol. There would be different opinions and thoughts but they all would be connected to the first one ( i.e Knol) to let the user find all relevant information together.

Being first collected information and knowledge the knol might contain incomplete and wrong information. Therefore other users will be allowed to logged into site and amend or enrich the knol with updated information.
